Land Clearing
Selective clearing for building envelopes, driveways and septic areas. We clear to a marked line, not the whole lot.
Most lots in York County are not clear ground. They are mixed hardwood and pine over glacial till, often with ledge somewhere near the surface and a wet corner nobody mentions until the machines arrive.
We clear selectively, to a line you have agreed and we have marked — usually a building envelope, a driveway corridor, and a septic area, with everything else left standing. We do not clearcut. If a job calls for taking a whole parcel down, that is forestry work and somebody else’s trade.

What people get wrong
Clearing more than you need is the expensive mistake. Every stump pulled is a hole to fill and compact, and bare soil on any slope becomes a runoff problem the first time it rains hard. Leaving a screen of trees along a boundary costs nothing and is usually the difference between a lot that looks finished and one that looks stripped.
Where a lot falls inside shoreland zoning, clearing limits are a real constraint rather than a formality, and they are worth establishing before a saw starts rather than after.
